ABOUT

Welcome to my blog! I hope you find that the information I've shared here is helpful. I thoroughly enjoy researching about homeschool and talking with other homeschoolers. Homeschooling is a passion of mine as well as coming along side other homeschoolers, and I'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to leave a comment or email me if you have my email address.

WHY I STARTED THIS BLOG~
Recently, I've been meeting several people that are interested in starting to homeschool. Since many people have the same questions such as "Should I homeschool?" and "What are the laws?" I decided to put the answers all in one place so that I could easily pull them back up again and share them with the next person who asks me the same questions. Suddenly, I had more questions to answer such as "What about high school courses?" and "What about college?," so I answered those by adding the answers to this blog. Then came questions about curriculum and then homeschooling preschoolers, so I continue to add information and links as the questions pop up! It's FUN!

Also, I love sharing about our homeschool journey. It's such an amazing blessing, honor and privilege, and I'm forever thankful to God for opening the doors for our family to homeschool.

I do not want to give anyone the impression that I'm trying to portray the perfect homeschool or that I think I know it all. I readily acknowledge that we certainly are not perfect. So please hear my heart on this. Just like every family, we have struggles and weaknesses. We have good days and bad days, but I won't be sharing about the struggles, weaknesses or bad days here! This is not the place for any of that. Out of respect for my family and to protect my children's privacy, I'm purposeful to share publicly only the positive aspects of our homeschool. I want to focus on the joys of homeschooling, so that's what this blog will be about. I also readily acknowledge that I don't know everything and not only that, I know very little, but I do love to research about homeschooling. Having said that, I also will share things specifically pertaining to homeschooling in Georgia as well as interesting articles on education. I pray that God will use what I share to help and encourage others in some way.

WHY "CELEBRATE THE JOURNEY"~
This is a reminder for me to celebrate the journey of homeschooling! In March 2012, I attended the Apologia Live Retreat (which will be called the "Real Refreshment Retreat" from now on), and the theme for our weekend was "Celebrate the Journey." This was indeed the most amazing and life-changing homeschool conference I have ever attended! Actually, it's not really fair for me to even compare it to any other conference. It's truly an extraordinary experience! God's presence was so strong. His voice was clear and undeniable. Long story short, I cast my fears away and put more faith in God! I'm in complete awe of Him and ALL He has done and is doing! THANK YOU LORD!

WHY PSALM 32:8~
A few days after the retreat I received an email from a friend saying that she was praying for my family. At the end of her encouraging note she included this Scripture verse. What perfect timing and what a perfect Scripture verse to once again remind me that GOD's GOT IT! He has a unique, individual plan for each of my children (and yours too!), and all I have to do is seek Him, walk in His ways and trust Him every step of the way! God tells us, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." THANK YOU LORD!
